Lance Smith was born on
 January 1, 1963 in
Kannapolis, North Carolina. After going to high school at A.L. Brown (Kannapolis, NC) Smith attended Louisiana State University. Smith made his professional debut in the NFL in 1985 with the St. Louis Cardinals. He played for the
St. Louis Cardinals, Phoenix Cardinals and New York Giants over the course of his 12 year career.
Most people believe that 1986 was Lance Smith's best year.
